we've all heard our parents playing Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street in the car on the way to see the grandparents decades ago, we just didn't pay attention to it. probably because we had no idea it would be revived THIRTY ONE YEARS LATER as a super-remix by a little known DJ from Toronto: STA (apparently pronounced "stay"). if this song was some kind of ear currency, then i just hit the jackpot.
you might have noticed the "Part I" up there in the title. i've decided to do a couple of features on covers and/or remixes that you should add to your playlist... and possibly a couple you should add to your annoying roommate's playlist. i may have also contracted a freelancer to dig up some tracks that i might have otherwise overlooked, so expect a garden variety.
